Nine Times Blue Handwritten Lyrics Sheet

From Nashville to the Johnny Cash Show to Magnetic South, the song Nine Times Blue has gone through varied iterations in its lifetime. Every version has brought catharsis to its listeners.

The song's first live performance was at the Troubadour in the mid-'60s just after Nez wrote it. His short set that night was received with life-changing, roaring applause as he played Nine Times Blue, Propinquity (I've Just Begun to Care), Papa Gene's Blues, and Different Drum. He recounts the show in one of the most remarkable passages in Infinite Tuesday.

To mark the 50th anniversary of Magnetic South, we asked Nez to create yet another iteration of Nine Times Blue by writing its lyrics out in blue ink.
